My definition of the word responsible is when someone is mature and shows leadership getting things done and working diligently. Some of my responsibilities in my life are school, work, family, friends, and myself. School is a pretty big responsibility cause everything is riding on it, I need to do good in school by keeping my grades up so I can get into a good college and do well and get a good job. Work is a responsibility for me because I have to be a diligent worker so I can save money to pay for gas for my car and to help pay for my college tuition. My family and friends are also responsibilities because they are the most important people in my life so I need to help them and be there for them in life just like they are for me. And obviously I am responsible for myself I need to keep myself in good health and do well in everything I do so I can have everything and do everything I stated before.
One example of a time I was responsible was when a family friend of my family had a health emergency and had to have her baby extremely early with no notice of more than a couple hours. She called me and asked for me to go and stay at her house for a couple days with her other two daughters while she was in the hospital so her husband could stay with her cause all her family lived out of state. Of course I agreed and went to their house her two daughters I had to watch were 1 and 1/2 years old and 4 years old. I ended up watching them for 3 days while staying at there house. I had to feed them, bathe them, plan activities for them to do since it was summer and of course make sure they were healthy. It was a lot of work but I think I was very responsible for a 16 year old thrown in to that situation, the only plus was that I was close to the family before so I knew the kids and what they liked and didn't like so that helped. I was responsible in this situation because I basically had to fend for not only my self but two infants I had to basically do everything for three people it was hard work but I knew it was for a good cause.
