Young Goodman Browns Journey

In the story Young Goodman Brown, the main character Young Goodman Brown goes on a journey and is forever changed by it. He grows up on this journey and loses some of his innocence while becoming an adult. Nobody eve wants to grow up so in the beginning of his journey he didn't want to go representing not wanting to grow up but he knows that he has to go representing he knows he has to grow up. Brown runs into people on his journey and they all teach him something about life, about right and wrong and about growing up. He meets a companion who represents that everyone can be evil and everyone can do wrong things, this is a harsh reality of the world that you learn while growing up ; everyone's not always a good person and do the right things. Then he meets Goody Cloyse, the minister and deacon Gookin they represent Browns loss of childhood beliefs cause he knows they have done wrong things and they are not the perfect people he thought they were. Near the end of the story Brown ends up at a clearing and sees everyone he knows, he denies being brought into their circle. Afterwards he wakes up in the forest and has a new outlook on life based on what he dreamt.

Soon in my life I will set out on a journey where my views on life will change and I will be forced to grow up completely. In two years I will leave for college and meet new people and learn new things and my innocence will dull. My expectations for this journey are that I grow up and become something important in this world I want to do well and achieve everything I go after. There will be many obstacles like meeting and dealing with new people, begin living on my own and to fend for myself. I will discover many things like what I want to do with my life, where I want to go and who I am. It will be the journey of a lifetime.
